Jenna Newhouse, LMSW
She/Her/Hers
Jenna is a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Michigan, with a specialized focus on anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, and trauma. She works to empower individuals—children, teens, college students, and adults—by creating a compassionate, down-to-earth space where growth and healing can take place.
She earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan, focusing on Interpersonal Practice with Children and Youth, along with a certificate in Child Welfare. Jenna began her career in Community Mental Health in Wayne County, working as both a home-based and school-based clinician. In 2017, she transitioned into private practice in the Ann Arbor area, expanding her work to include individual adult clients, as well as children, teens, and families.
Jenna is nationally certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and has received intensive training in Parent Management Training – Oregon Model (PMTO), which informs her collaborative, strengths-based work with families.
Her therapeutic approach is pragmatic and goal-oriented. Jenna combines evidence-based strategies, such as CBT and ACT, with real-world application to help clients create concrete goals and build upon their strengths. Known for her warm and approachable style, she often utilizes humor in her practice—believing that laughter can be a powerful tool for connection and healing.
When working with families, Jenna believes that parents are their child’s best teacher and partners closely with caregivers to strengthen relationships and foster emotional growth. Whether she’s working with a young child managing anxiety, a teen feeling overwhelmed, a college student in transition, or a new parent navigating identity shifts, Jenna meets each client with empathy, honesty, and practical support. Her goal is to help individuals feel empowered, resilient, and equipped to create lasting change in their lives.
